Yes i have configured and manage on a day to day Cisco 7204 Routers and Cisco 3845  routers that we use to peer to our exchange point. I'm also part of a team that administers a large number of 2801 routers for our WAN.

Yes i have configured and manage Cisco 6503 Core switches for our LAN. i have worked with various Cisco catalyst switches eg 3560 and 3750 in developing VLANS. I am also able to configure Cisco Content Service Switches for load balancing

The KRA is the revenue collection body in Kenya. Working in the ICT department, were are responsible for ensuring the availability of services to the taxpayers at all times. we provide a lot of our services over the web, such as submission of tax returns online, and hence we are always concerned with the trends and challenges facing online businesses. We play a big part in shaping the future of use of technology for service provision within the Kenyan Goverment. We are also a member of the KIXP where we exchange a very large percentage of local content.

our infrastructure is made up of a mix of environments. server hardware is comprised of IBM, HP and Dell sitting on wither Windows 2003 and above, or Suse Linux ES 10 and above. our network infrastructure at core access and distribution layers is Cisco. Connectivity to the internet is handled through our ISP's who provide us fibre connectivity from our office to the internet. our countries main connection to the net is through either the SEACOM or TEAMS undersea fibre.

I have a background in Computer Science with 5 years experience in the field of networking and systems administration. my current work environment is centered around Linux servers and Cisco communication and security equipment where I deal with issues of deploying new solutions, troubleshooting existing problems and monitoring service availability

Using this knowledge we at KRA we'll be able to ensure our online services are always available to our users.The training will serve as input for our continuous service improvement program where we review our current technical implementations and ensure they conform to international best practice. based on the knowledge acquired at the workshop, I am sure we will be eager to improve our systems and find solutions to some of the current challenges we face
